Tradewins Mission Youth Slat Bunk Bed

My husband and I purchased a small holiday home by the coast in Spain. It is just a two bedroom apartment but somewhere we can go on family holidays with our two sons. Jack is eight and Samuel is ten.  We purchased the Tradewins Mission Youth Slat Bunk Beds to put into their room out there and got it shipped over.  The boys love their new bed in their new holiday home.

As soon as we got the bed out there and put it together we realised how well it had been constructed and we purchased the under bed storage drawers and the five drawer chest as well, because of the logistics of getting the furniture to Spain we didn’t want to have to keep replacing it.

Boys will be boys and they aren’t always careful with what they are doing or playing. We’ve had to replace furniture in the past after they’ve broken it climbing on it or bouncing on beds. The solid wood of the Mission range of furniture means that we are certain that it will out live the boy’s careless ability to destroy everything they touch.

The simple style of the Mission Youth Slat Bunk Bed fits well with the colonial feel we’ve tried for in our Spanish holiday home. The warmness of the rich finish gives the boys’ room a homely feel and they think the beds are great.

We are looking at renting out the holiday home during periods when we are not using it and I am sure the bunk beds will suit the needs of many families.  We may look at upgrading our apartment to a three bedroom villa in a few years if all goes well and the bunk beds are of a style that I am sure our sons will be happy to sleep on them as normal twin beds in separate rooms too if that comes to pass.

Since we came back from our first four week break in Spain relaxed and content and in time for the boys to return to school they have both asked if we can get them the same bed for their room at home as well.  At least with the second bed coming we will be more prepared for putting it together.  The instructions were good but it still took us a full day to get it together. There weren’t as many guide holes for the screws as we had hoped, but once erected the bed is definitely strong and sturdy.

The boys are on a basic and somewhat creaky metal framed bunk bed at home so it is about time we got a new set for them here as well.  I will be happier with them in new beds and they have expressed a desire for the same ‘luxury’ at home as on holiday, so we are going to purchase a second. I would highly recommend the Tradewins Mission Youth Slat Bunk Bed and so would my boys.
